When visiting Barcelona, food and wine are defInItely highlights.
Tapas bar, paella, fish, meat, international food, pizza places..the offer is impressive.
My plan included typical catalan dinner the first night, fish the second night and pizza the third ( always fun for an italian to check out what is standard like abroad ).
Here are the 3 best spots I found:
TAPEO BORN-SUPER TAPAS
Situated in the gothic quarter, this restaurant is well worth seeking out. It gets really busy so if you are planning to eat after 9 it would be advisable to book in advance. Great layout with modern styling, you get a great view of the kitchen and the excellent skill that goes into making the food so brilliant. Must recommend the jamon, pork ribs, honey glazed aubergines, patatas brava, potato bomb, crema catalana.
Essential but interesting wine list with great labels of Tempranillo from Rioja and Ribera del Duero.
Few labels and vintages of the famous Vega Sicilia also in the list.
CRUDO BAR- FISH WITH NO FLAWS
Beautifully designed seafood, sushi heaven in la Gran Via.
Smart decor.
Delightful imaginative tastes, colors & creativity adorn, delectable original dishes that arouse senses.
Friendly and attentive service.
Great choices are the salmon tartar, the peppers and octopus risotto, the ink squid version of paella.
The millefoglie as desert was the highlight.
Good cocktail and wine list.
Match your fish choices with a nice Cava, Albarino or Garnacha.
DON KILO-THE REAL PIZZA
Opening restaurant in the heart of Eixample neighborhood with a really nice design.
Here the quality of the food and the service makes the difference.
You will be as a special guest in someone else place.
Professional, friendly, welcoming staff will help you and entertain you during the whole dinner.
Pizza was just perfect ,the dough is light and fluffy , the tomato sauce exactly right, the mozzarella an high quality one.
